The Japan Air Self-Defense Force F-1 was the first domestically produced jet fighter, developed from the T-2 supersonic trainer. Deployment began in 1977, with a total of 77 aircraft manufactured. For approximately 30 years, until its retirement in 2006, it served as a support fighter protecting Japanese airspace. Its sleek form provided excellent stability during low-altitude, high-speed flight, making it a highly accurate bombing and attack aircraft. Based on research of the actual aircraft, this kit faithfully reproduces the F-1's style and details using the latest design and mold technology. The sleek airframe shape is accurately reproduced, with precise detailing. The leading-edge flaps are reproduced in their lowered position when parked. Landing gear parts are also finely detailed. Armament includes ASM-1, AIM-9L, Mk82 with GCS, four-ejector rack, and double-ejector rack as separate parts.
