Product Description
[The culmination of a classic tank in a compact size] Nearly 50,000 M4 Shermans were produced during World War II, becoming the main battle tank of the Allied forces. Of its many variations, the M4A3E8 was the final model during the war. It featured a later-model welded chassis with improved protection and a Ford V8 gasoline engine. Its new horizontally-mounted suspension (HVSS) and wide tracks provided excellent off-road performance, while its long-barreled 76mm gun delivered impressive firepower. The M4A3E8, also known as the Easy Eight after its model name, E8, was produced in approximately 2,600 units between August 1944 and April 1945. It made its debut in the Battle of the Bulge in December 1944 and contributed to the Allied victory on the European front at the end of the war. After the war, it was deployed in the Korean War and was also supplied to the founding Japan Ground Self-Defense Force.
