[Outline of the work]
Equipped with 'B-Spec = Director Mode' to enjoy racing like an RPG
The history of racing games changed with the introduction of Gran Turismo in 1997. This year, Gran Turismo 4 is once again revolutionizing the world of racing games. After driving, spend the same amount of time enjoying that replay. That was the characteristic style of play that Gran Turismo pioneered. Then 'B-Spec = Director Mode' was created from the idea that Gran Turismo that can be enjoyed only from a replay point of view...
So to speak, “Gran Turismo You Don't Drive Yourself,” which can also be called a “racing RPG,” is here. In B-Spec = Director Mode, the game progresses from the start of the race from a so-called replay point of view = TV broadcast. In “GT4,” the conventional driver mode where you drive yourself is called 'A Spec', and the director mode where you give instructions as a race team coach without driving yourself is called 'B Spec'.
B-Spec = Director Mode provides a new experience for racing games where 'play = drive by yourself' was commonplace. In this mode, it's 'play = give instructions', and players can compete in races by giving instructions to their car's driver (AI) as if they were the manager of a race team. This mode is not a standalone mode and can be selected for all available races. Depending on the player, they have never driven themselves, and it is also possible to complete GT mode races. B-Spec = Director Mode is a completely new racing game style where even players who haven't been able to drive well until now can drive a car that has been carefully set up and enjoy the strangeness, exhilaration, and fun of bargaining in racing.
