The story begins in Totokanta, a city on the continent of Kiesarhima. Orphen, a magician who appeared in the town about a year ago, spent his days loitering without a job.
It seems that whenever he has free time, he keeps watch over the Everlasting Mansion, a prominent Totokanta family. One day, while he was looking around the mansion using binoculars borrowed from Magik, the son of the innkeeper where he was staying, he noticed a young girl starting to get changed. Her name was Clio. Noticing Orphen peeking, Clio came running out from the living room with a sword in hand.
In fact, the sword she brought out was the Bartanders sword, the one Orphen had been watching over for a year...
