The COLOR-SKOPAR 50mm F2.2 is a manual-focus standard lens optimized for full-frame M-mount sensors. The newly designed optical system allows for an F2.2 maximum aperture, keeping the overall length from the mount to just 30mm, despite the 50mm focal length of this standard lens. The lens construction, which delivers excellent optical performance from the F2.2 maximum aperture, is made up of seven elements in six groups, including three elements made of anomalous partial dispersion glass. Compact and highly portable, this lens is an all-purpose lens.
This lens is equipped with a high-precision rangefinder coupling mechanism, and the all-metal helicoid provides a silky feel when you focus, while the traditional rangefinder focusing experience is truly enjoyable.The minimum focusing distance is 0.7m (depending on the camera) coupled to the rangefinder, but by using an extendable helicoid, it is possible to achieve a minimum focusing distance of 0.5m.
The lens body is equipped with a focusing lever that is easy to grip, allowing for quick and accurate focusing despite its compact appearance. By memorizing the relationship between the position of this focusing lever and the distance scale, you can set the approximate distance at which you want to focus in advance without having to look at the numbers engraved on the lens barrel.
The lens is available in two exterior finishes: black and silver. It comes with a compact, straight-type hood that matches the lens body color and does not obstruct the rangefinder window of a rangefinder camera. Removing the hood reduces the overall length from the mount to 30mm, further improving portability and ease of taking the lens in and out of a bag. The filter diameter is a traditional, compact 39mm.
The optical design of this lens has been optimized for use with rangefinder-coupled digital and film cameras, but it is also intended for use with mirrorless digital cameras using a mount adapter, making it compatible with a variety of platforms beyond rangefinder cameras.
