The NOKTON Vintage Line 35mm F1.5 Aspherical is a large-aperture, semi-wide-angle lens that combines three elements: a compact, sleek design, excellent optical performance, and a large aperture. 35mm lenses, a staple interchangeable lens for rangefinder cameras, have remained a popular focal length from the 20th century to the present day, and the Voigtländer brand currently offers five different 35mm lenses in the VM mount.
The NOKTON Vintage Line 35mm F1.5 Aspherical is a versatile lens for rangefinder cameras, boasting a large aperture, a filter diameter of just 39mm, and a short overall length of just 36mm from the mount, resulting in a compact overall style. The lens barrel, with its modern classic design inspired by the 1970s, is equipped with an optical system consisting of nine elements in six groups, including two double-sided aspherical lenses.
It delivers exceptional optical performance from its maximum aperture of F1.5. The minimum focusing distance is 0.7m (depending on the camera) linked to the rangefinder, but by using an extendable helicoid, it can be reduced to 0.5m. The exterior metal is made of aluminum, weighing just 188g, making it lightweight and highly maneuverable. Optional hoods, the LH-4N with a slit and the classic-style LH-12, are compatible.
The optical design of this lens has been optimized for use with rangefinder-coupled digital and film cameras, but it is also intended for use with mirrorless digital cameras using a mount adapter, making it compatible with a variety of platforms beyond rangefinder cameras.
