They are estimated to have been made 3,000-4,000 years ago. Each piece features unique Jomon pottery patterns, making them a valuable find. Why not hold a piece of pottery, a work of art created by the Jomon people, and experience the romance of ancient times?
[Frequently Asked Questions]
Q: Is it authentic?
A: Here's how to verify authenticity. To authenticate, wet the pottery fragment with water. You should smell a strong earthen scent that isn't present when it's dry. This is due to the soil components permeating the pottery after being buried for thousands of years. Pieces made in more recent periods would not have this scent. While these are valuable pottery fragments, we've managed to keep the price low by keeping them small and by randomly shipping them.
Q: Is it illegal to sell Jomon pottery?
A: This piece was found on private property by a farmer who has been farming for generations, even before the Cultural Properties Protection Act came into effect. There is currently no prohibition on individuals in Japan owning or selling cultural property, so there is no legal problem.
