When the band first formed, they would enter the practice studio at 1:00 AM every weekend, when late-night packages were available for a cheaper rate. Therefore, the band replaced "o'clock" with "OK" and "ROCK" to create the name, a play on the meaning of "one good rock." [7][1]
The band was named after the band's first drummer, You.
Other names considered were "Taxis" (Taka) and "Pistons" (Toru).
The band is often abbreviated as "One O'Clock" or "OOR." It is also expressed numerically as "10969."
