Place of origin: (Planning & design) Made in Japan, (Production) Made in China / Material: 100% hemp, (Shaft) Birch, (Weight) Glass beads / Size: Approx. 10 x 170 cm
Motif: A combination of delicious-looking persimmons and a cute Japanese white-eye bird that has come to peck at them. It is dyed using hand-painting and stencil dyeing techniques. Persimmons have been considered an auspicious fruit since ancient times because they are associated with longevity and their name sounds similar to "kaki," which means "joyful arrival." The Japanese white-eye bird pecking at the persimmon also embodies good fortune, abundance, family love, friendship, freedom, and peace, making it a design that seems to bring good luck when displayed.
[100% Factory Production] Production management is handled by our Kyoto headquarters, and Japanese staff are also stationed on-site to ensure the same quality control as in Japan. / [Expression of Traditional Colors] To express traditional Japanese colors, only Japanese dyes can be used, so all dyes are imported from Japan for dyeing. / [Same Tools as in Japan] Dyeing brushes, dyeing machinery, and tenter machines for stretching the fabric are all shipped from Japan to our factory in China. / [Original Designs] Kyoto Rakushian releases new products according to the four seasons. All designs are original and planned at our Kyoto headquarters. High-quality patterns that other companies cannot imitate are dyed by meticulously trained personnel.
[Linen Fabric Production Capacity] Currently, most linen sold in Japan is made in China. However, just like in Japan, economic development in China has led to a decline in the number of linen weavers. Therefore, in 2011, we established our own linen weaving factory. We want to contribute, however modestly, to preventing traditional crafts from disappearing from the world. / [Meticulous Inspection System] We conduct inspections at our Chinese factory, but we also have Japanese staff inspect each and every product after it arrives in Japan before delivering it to you.
*While we strive to match the product images to the actual product's color as closely as possible, the actual color may differ slightly depending on your monitor settings. Also, as each item is handmade, the dyed color may vary slightly from the photo due to temperature and humidity. Please understand this in advance. *The fabric used in this product is natural hand-spun linen. Therefore, there may be some inconsistencies in the width of the fabric, or dark lines may be present in the fabric. Please understand that this is part of the unique texture of natural materials before purchasing.
It has a long, narrow shape, measuring 10cm wide by 170cm tall. Its slim width makes it easy to display anywhere. You can hang it individually on a pillar, in your living room, entryway, or combine several to use as a curtain. To help you feel closer to the seasons in your daily life, we offer about 20 seasonal items each season, featuring motifs of flowers and seasonal events. All are original designs by Kyoto Rakushian. They have a warm, natural texture created by human hands. Each piece is dyed by hand using traditional techniques such as hand-dyeing, stencil dyeing, and hand-painting, depending on the pattern. We are also particular about the fabric, using 100% linen spun from natural linen and woven on a handloom for most of our products. / How to display: The narrow tapestry can be displayed individually, or combined in various ways. Please enjoy your favorite coordination.
