This is a 17-key C-tuned kalimba. Made from beautiful mahogany wood, this kalimba produces a warm, gentle tone with a solid bass sound. Also known as the "thumb piano," "hand music box," "finger piano," or "thumb piano," this African folk instrument is easy to play, even for beginners, as beautiful sounds can be produced simply by touching the keys.
This kalimba features a stylish and cute cat and crescent moon design. It comes in two colors that evoke the warmth of wood: "MoonCat Coffee" and "MoonCat Maple." The kalimba comes with a tuning hammer, cleaning cloth, identification stickers, and instructions.
The kalimba is made from carefully selected solid mahogany wood (single piece), resulting in a crisp tone, long sustain, and stable sound. Mahogany is also a strong and hard wood, producing a warm tone with a solid bass sound.
A tuning hammer is included with the kalimba. Please adjust the pitch using a tuner app or a commercially available tuner before use.
The kalimba keys are engraved with numbers and letters. On a C-major kalimba, the numbers 1/2/3/4/5/6/7 represent Do/Re/Mi/Fa/So/La/Ti, respectively. The letters C/D/E/F/G/A/B also represent Do/Re/Mi/Fa/So/La/Ti, respectively. A ● above the numbers and letters indicates one octave higher, and ●● indicates two octaves higher.
