Born in 1924, she learned home cooking alongside her mother, Hamako Tatsumi, a pioneering culinary researcher.
She has also independently studied European cuisine in addition to Japanese cuisine, and continues to offer fundamental recommendations on the food that sustains human vitality.
The soup he served his father at the end of his life is enjoyed by many across the country, quietly spreading its influence as "Soup of Life." His numerous books include "For You: Soup that Sustains Life," "Taste Diary," "From Hands to Heart," "The Dining Table of Life," and "Tasting the Seasons with Yoshiko Tatsumi."
